Where We Build
Habitat builds throughout Rockland County on donated and purchased land.
To date we have built eight homes in Haverstraw, Hillburn and Spring Valley. Our ninth home is being renovated in the town of Haverstraw and is slated for completion in early 2018. With the completion of this home, we will be able to provide safe, affordable housing for another family in our Rockland community.
What do the homes look like?
Standard new construction habitat homes include 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, kitchen, living and dining rooms. Our newly constructed homes are designed and built to achieve Energy Star standards.
How much will it cost?
Habitat of Rockland homes are financed with affordable, zero-interest, non-profit mortgages. A small monetary down payment and closing costs are require, plus your sweat-equity contribution.
How are the homes built?
Volunteers and sponsor groups provide much of the labor and funds needed to build Habitat homes. Habitat of Rockland's seasoned construction staff oversees all aspects of the building process.
