TEAM BUILD!

Habitat of Rockland invites our community businesses and congregations to send groups out to our construction sites to help build affordable homes for low-moderate income working families in our community. Team Build Days provide organizations in Rockland County a team building opportunity while giving back to the community.  You and your colleagues, clients or guests will spend the day on a construction site working together to help our homeowners achieve their dream of homeownership.   

 

Come join us and experience the satisfaction and fun with building a new home for a deserving family from our Rockland community.  Together we can provide our Partnership families with the opportunity necessary to break the cycle of poverty.

 

How does it work?

In the Team Build program, groups join together to raise/donate funds and sponsor their own build-day with Rockland Habitat!  Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals and whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this a rewarding experience for all involved and improves the community that we share.  

 

A $1,000 donation secures one full team build day with 10 employees/friends!  Larger groups are considered upon request. 

 

Non-Profits, School Groups, and Congregations

Suggested donation of $500 per group (May consider doing a tool or building material drive in lieu of a financial contribution.)

Why Do We Ask For a Financial Donation?

  • The average cost to build a Habitat home in Rockland County is $150,000.  Because the number of homes we can build is determined by how much money we raise, our success depends on the vital combination of funds and volunteer labor provided by group supporters. These group contributions are one of our most important sources of funding. Your donation helps us purchase the building materials for the day and provide the necessary training and supervision needed for a successful team build day.  Funds can be raised by individuals, companies, or through matching funds and other grants.  100% of your donation goes toward building homes that are sold interest-free to low- and moderate-income families in need of affordable housing. ​​

  • All donations are tax deductible, Habitat for Humanity of Rockland is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

  • In appreciation and recognition of your organization’s generosity, Habitat will recognize your contribution in our annual report, in our newsletter and on our website.

How do we get hammering?

Email donna.troia.habitatforhumanity@gmail.com to discuss available build days for your team.

We will send you a Sponsorship form to complete.  Once that is done, we will secure your build date on the calendar and send you all of the build day details!  We typically build all year round on weekdays and Saturdays.

 

We build affordable housing throughout Rockland County.  We typically don't place your group at a specific location until about 2-3 weeks prior to the build date. This is due to an ever-fluctuating construction schedule.
